Converting RAW to DNG

Here’s a quick way to convert the RAW file from your camera to DNG, a new file format by Adobe that they use for storing RAW files. DNG is an open file format, and as a result, it can be read by many different applications.

If your original camera file type is still unknown, visit the manufacturer’s website to find out which format it is stored in and then use one of the following resources to convert it.

How to get the prefix from a complete URL using python requests.get()?

I’m trying to write a function to match the prefix of an URL to find out what the original URL used for authentication. I can easily match the domain, but I need to find the prefix.
So if I enter:
import requests

def matchedPrefix(base_url, complete_url):
base_request = requests.get(base_url)
complete_request = requests.get(complete_url)
print(base_request.url, complete_request.url)

mpt = input(„Enter the base URL: „)
complete = input(„Enter the complete URL: „)
matchedPrefix(mpt, complete)

I get the output:
Enter the base URL:
Enter the complete URL:

The output I would like to see is:

Obviously this can be accomplished by splitting the URL and comparing what part of the URL is equal to the base URL. However, I would prefer to find a method that exists within the API, rather than hard coding this.

Here’s one solution using the regex module (instead of re):
import requests
from regex import re

def matchedPrefix(base_url, complete_url):
base_request = requests.get(base_url)
complete_request = requests.get(complete_url)
print(base_request.url, complete_request.url)
regex = re.compile(base_url, re.IGNORECASE)
match = regex.match(complete_request.url)
return base_request.url if match else None

What’s New In?

The war over pot legalization is heating up. First, a Maine judge ruled that a law banning the sale or use of pot is unconstitutional, allowing the state to proceed with plans to legalize cannabis. Then, the state of Washington legalized marijuana, though not yet for recreational use. This week, the state of Colorado has begun allowing the public to pre-order medical marijuana and recreational pot, the first legal sales since the end of the federal ban on the drug last year.

But the war over marijuana legalization has its roots in another, older fight for civil rights. While marijuana advocates have been seeking to loosen marijuana laws for nearly a century, the final push to legalize marijuana was also a direct result of the civil rights movement of the 1960s. That’s because the movement for marijuana legalization also happened within a broader civil rights struggle.

The cannabis movement is usually thought of as a progressive one, but according to one historian, it has its roots in “a conservative attempt to avoid the evils of prohibition.” In the 1920s, a number of prominent Americans like John D. Rockefeller, John W. Davis, and the editors of Liberty magazine argued that marijuana was a safer alternative to alcohol, arguing that it had more medical potential than any other substance of its time. That argument gained steam in the 1960s, when a number of leaders from the liberal movement, led by Dr. John C. LeDoux, took up the cause.

“The cannabis movement was a conservative one. It didn’t want to go back to criminal prohibition.”

The point of LeDoux’s organization, the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML) was to establish marijuana as a medicine, according to Elizabeth O’Bagy, a professor of history at the University of California, Davis. But that didn’t happen. A 1955 study found that it had little medical value.

“The cannabis movement was a conservative one. It didn’t want to go back to criminal prohibition,” O’Bagy told The Verge. “But it had this other problem, because people smoked pot, and you could say it was a safer alternative to alcohol, and so they could say they’re being liberal and they’re being humane and, you know, they’re helping people.”

The more extreme wing of the movement, called the “stoner” movement, had
