Selects the position of the file and corresponding line you want to view in the log file.
You can select the line number you want to view, you can also use it in a wildcard. To do this, you need to enter '*’ and then the line number.
To select a range of lines, you need to use two sets of asterisks, with the lower one being the start of the range and the upper one being the end of the range.
To add a prefix and suffix to the line number, you can enter the prefix, then the line number, then the suffix. The default is to leave the line number alone.
TEXT to SEARCH:
This will allow you to filter the log to a particular area of text. If you just enter text, it will do a simple text search.
You can also enter a regular expression and the text will be searched for the pattern.
To find the first instance of a line, you need to use the 'first’ command.
To find the last instance of a line, you need to use the 'last’ command.
Text is case sensitive, if you use text like '**.*’ and your text is lower case, it will not be found.
You can use the 'all’ option to make it look for all instances of the text.
If you use the 'clear’ command and you have the same text in multiple logs, you can clear the instance of the text, to make it look for new instances of the text.
You can also select the text you want to search for from a list.
You can select multiple items and then they will be searched for on all lines of the log file.
You can also use wildcards, this example searches for the text '*ERROR*’ on line 2:
