SharePoint List Item Editor v1.0.0.1 for Windows Vista/7/8, 32 bit and 64 bit.
The SharePoint List Item Editor is a small WinForms tool that populates a standard DataGridView control with the items of SharePoint lists. The list data can be fetched with either the SharePoint object model or with the standard SharePoint web services which allows for remote preview/updating of list items. List items are being updated using either the SPWeb.ProcessBatchData or the SharePoint Lists web service which ensures great performance for batch updates.

To remove an item from a list programmatically you must first enumerate all the list items and remove the item from the list by removing its value in the list column.

It can be done manually by setting the Item[„ColumnName”] to null or by using the SPListItemCollection’s RemoveAt() method. In the second case you have to be aware that any subsequent operations that you perform on this item will affect the other items in the list as well because the item is not stored in a list item store but rather in the List collection.

I’m assuming it’s the „remove from list” that is causing the hang, since when you add/update a list item, it is still in memory. I’m not sure how to remove it from the list without letting it leave the memory.

Add new version that removes all columns except the following five:
– Item: Column name
– Item: Description
– Item: Modified By
– Item: Modified On
– Item: Created By
